Short Memo: Mangrove Planting in Pangkalpinang, Indonesia

On March 13, 1000 mangrove trees were planted along Pangkalpinang coastal areas onby the Bangka Botanical Garden supported Head of Marine and Fishery Office, staff, fisher folks, and students of Bangka University.

It is planned to plant 30.000 mangroves within the duration of 5 years. Seeing the urgency to save the coastal areas, the head of Marine and Fishery with his new strategy, set a new target to plant 30.000 mangrove trees per year instead. They will collaborate with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) section of nine tin companies in Pangkalpinang and the Bangka Botanical Garden to achieve this aim.
