Short Memo: Local Government Network on Solid Waste Management in Chiang Rai takes first steps

On December 29, 2011 the Chiang Rai Municipality conducted its first network meeting on the issue of Solid Waste Management.

Chiang Rai is the place where the network consisting of local governments has just been formed a couple of weeks ago in order to tackle solid waste management as a collective approach. 40 representatives from eleven of the participating local governments joined the first meeting of the network. The issues discussed were the upcoming capacity building program as well as the next steps within the logframe. The network agreed to have a study visit and training on good practice and solid waste management at Pitsanulok Municipality, Pitsnulok Province on February 22 - 24. Emphasis has also been put on facilitating project communication while using the DELGOSEA social media tools and the website.
