DELGOSEA Project Gaining Popularity, Pilot Areas Featured in UCLG-ASPAC Meeting in India

Kerala, India. Two of the pilot areas were featured in the UCLG-ASPAC Executive Bureau Meeting held on 22-25 April 2011 in Kerala, India. Mr. Hugua, Regent of Wakatobi representing the Association of Indonesian Regency (APKASI) in Indonesia while the Deputy Mayor of Takuapa Municipality, Mr. Suntisuk Na Thalang representing the Municipal League of Thailand (MLT) were the resource speakers in one of the sessions entitled “Impact of Climate Change & Adaptation System.” Both speakers included the DELGOSEA project in their presentation. Also, during the Executive Bureau Meeting, Dr. Rudolf Hauter, UCLG-ASPAC Secretary-General briefed the audience on the progress of the DELGOSEA Project and the list of activities lined-up for 2011.

Organized by the All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG), the International Conference and UCLG-ASPAC Executive Bureau Meeting aptly themed “People, Places, and Opportunities towards Sustainable Cities-2030” gathered some 300 participants all over the Asia-Pacific.

 This international exposure proves that DELGOSEA project can go beyond DELGOSEA borders. And that it can even reach more than 300 local authorities in the Asia-Pacific region.
